LIFE COACHING VS THERAPY

Life Coaching does not deal with your past problems. Although past problems may be of concern, the focus is on your present, and the techniques and skills you use to accomplish your goals.
As with therapy, there is a heavy emphasis on the foundational relationship you have with your coach.  This is accomplished through active dialogue between you and the coach that is built on respect, care and empathy for your past. Life Coaching is a collaboration between client and coach where you actively work together to address and recognize past issues but don't work on them.  Life Coaching does not seek to change your past, rather it seeks to change how you view and measure success.

The foundation of therapy is built on the relationship you have with your therapist where they actively listen to your problems.  One of the goals of therapy is to work on past issues to help you deal with your present and future.  This is done utilizing various methods such as cognitive behavioral techniques or through psychoanalysis.  This is not Life Coaching.
